Minister's Confidential Assistance Fund
The Minister's Confidential Fund supports members of our congregation and the larger community who have needs beyond their financial capacity. In the past five months, the fund has paid a portion of a young family's rent after an accident reduced their income, helped someone in cancer treatment to pay down a bill, and covered a dental visit for a young person who had postponed care too long, and more. Such kindness is part of our commitment to our own people and our community.
When we replenished the fund in September, Rev. Lane said that requests were rising in number and amount. In every instance this year, she has paid only a portion of what was needed, in partnership with the recipients and sometimes other congregations. Now we are asked to add to the fund so that our generosity can relieve financial stresses within and beyond our doors for the remainder of this year. Please share what you can.
