The Membership Committee is in charge of all aspects of the membership life of the congregation. Committee members staff the Sunday Visitor’s Desk after the service to greet all visitors and provide information about PUUC and Unitarian Universalism and help guide newcomers in areas of interest.
When new members join the church, the Membership Committee provides informational packets, eases their assimilation into the congregation, introduces them during a Sunday service, prepares new member profiles for The Cresset, and hosts an annual welcome breakfast. The Committee maintains records of members, visitors, and friends and tracks numbers from year to year. It develops programs to foster greater member interaction and seeks ways to grow membership.
The mission of the Membership Committee is to increase and sustain membership based on agreed upon objectives with the Standing Committee. The Membership committee will develop a mix of programs that will meet these objectives and also be viewed as the knowledgeable resource for any membership fluctuations.
