It is better to have a meaningful life and make a difference than to merely have a long life.   - Bryant H. McGill -

From Sarah

To calm down and snuff some rumors flying around, Sarah Franklin (Director of Religious Education) will be serving our congregation yet again this year, she is not resigning. She will be, however changing her office hours to: Mondays 9-3, Thursdays 9-3, she will work Fridays 9-12 mostly from home and occasionally from the office, and will of course be here on Sundays. She welcomes any suggestions or help for this coming year. Feel free to stop by the office or call her at home.

Rummage Sale

It's that time of the year, time to de-clutter and donate clothes you don't want anymore, books you'd like to have someone else read, art work that's been stored in the attic, utensils and cookware you no longer use, and toys that the kids have outgrown.

The annual Rummage and White Elephant Sale will take place at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church to support our staff, our programs and, overall, our general operations. The sale will take place on Friday evening, Sept. 27, from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

This year we will make a few changes to improve the sale and reach out to more in our communities.

Please make sure that your donations are clean, in very-good-to-excellent condition and usable.

You may drop off items on designated tables in the dining room (look for signs) on Sunday mornings during August and September, or if you need to come at a different time, please contact co-chair Karen Clement (924-6035), co-chair Marsha Morrow (924-6921), or Administrator Vanessa Amsbury-Bonilla (924-6245).

Concert on Friday with Emanuele Cappellotto and NEME, Friday, August 2, 7pm

I'll be wrapping up my month-long, five-state tour with Italian mandolinist Emanuele Cappellotto with a First Friday concert at the UU Church in Peterborough, NH. Also joining us is my group, the New England Mandolin Ensemble - with Ted Mann, Charles Moser, and John Zevos - appearing as both trio and quartet. This concert will be recorded, so prices will be a bit lower and we'll be favoring the technical/recording considerations more than usual. Please come - Emanuele is absolutely brilliant, and NEME never sounded better!

A Yoga and mantra workshop with Snatam Kaur

Within each of us is the Sacred Sound of the Soul. Through Kundalini Yoga, Mantra recitation, and Meditation we will resonate in this Sacred Sound. In this way of resonance, we can recalibrate our inner vibration to be in alignment to the positive life flow energy or Prana, that is at our fingertips.

Saturday, August 24th, 7 pm $30 advance, $35 at the door

Tickets available online: SpiritVoyage.com/Snatam and ArtandYoga.com

Local Tickets available at the church office, Peterborough Chiropractic, & SOUL Yoga, Healing and the Arts.

If you have an idea to do something great, just do it. Don't wait. Just do it.    - Elaine Newkirk -

I wonder if we have ever actually sold a 'white elephant' in the rummage/white elephant sale????  Have we sold ANY elephants? hmmmm.....I wonder...

It’s summer baby!  I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather…and mouth-watering tomatoes!
