Sarah Franklin, Director of Religious Education, was born and raised in the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Her professional career is in Modern and Contemporary Dance. After performing, choreographing and teaching in New York City for ten years, she moved to CT where she was a professor of dance at the Hartford Conservatory, Trinity College, Wesleyan University, and Fairfield University. She also guest taught and choreographed at Yale University. She has created a number of works performed throughout New England and most recently performed in NYC in the40up Series at Dance Theatre Workshop. She was featured dancer and choreographer in WGBH's "See Dance", produced in 1998. She has also participated many times in UU worship services and held workshops on Dance in Worship.  In addition to her part-time work as DRE, she teaches dance at Franklin Pierce University and at MoCo Arts and runs The Old Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast.

With strong roots in the UU, and love of children, she has returned to the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church where her parents were members for over 50 years. She is currently working on getting UUA accreditation for Religious Education.
