Building a Thoughtful Community

The Social Justice committee of the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church will hold monthly gatherings on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. to watch and discuss a short social justice-related lecture or talk. The events will take place in the Parish Hall of the Church (upstairs) following the free Community Supper that takes place downstairs in the dining room.

This month, the second event in the Building a Thoughtful Community series will be held on Weds 2/21 at 7pm. The group will view a TEDx talk given by Michelle Alexander (author of "The New Jim Crow") entitled "The Future of Race in America." This talk sheds light on the systemic nature of racism and incarceration in America, conditions which involve and impact everyone - even here in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

The events are free and open to the public. Handicap parking and access is available in the rear of the building.
